Snr AEM Application engineer Global CAD/CAM and PLM
1. Purpose of the Job
The purpose of this job is to provide high-level technical support to CAD users globally by ensuring the support and operational delivery of CAD systems and services to agreed levels of service. The role requires effective and efficient support of CADCAM, PLM and MES and AEM (GDAS) operations, physical and virtual server infrastructure, and equipment, while taking into account changing or variable demands of the business. Additionally, the job requires continuously seeking proactive ways to improve services in the most cost-effective and timely manner. This position reports functionally to the Global Snr Manager product & manufacturing business system and plays a key role in maintaining and improving the CAD systems and services that support the business.
2. Dimensions
- Financial: The job does not have any direct budget responsibilities.
- Business Processes: The job involves providing availability and global user support for various architectures, including 3DX/V6, Adobe Experience Manager/GDAS/EPAT/ETM/EQUALS, desk/laptop, and server software deployment, maintenance, and applications. The job also includes responsibility for data backups, system user training both online and offline, and creating training materials.
- People: The job does not have any direct reports, but it requires working collaboratively with team members and providing high-level technical support to CAD users globally.
3. Maintains consistent interfaces with:
- End users at all locations: The job involves maintaining consistent interfaces with end-users located globally, ensuring that they receive timely and effective technical support for CAD systems and services.
- CAD Support Service: The job requires collaborating with the CAD Support Service team to ensure that CAD systems and services are maintained and delivered in line with agreed levels of service. Consistent interfaces must be maintained with the team to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Specialized knowledge, expertise and/or abilities consistently required:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- In-depth knowledge of personal computer hardware and software, including communication protocols, desktop client security (anti-virus, OS patch management).
- Experience in installation, configuration, and administration of Windows platform server architecture.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, MS Azure, AWS
- Proficiency in remote connectivity administration and support.

The job requires specialized knowledge, expertise, and abilities in the areas of computer science, communication, personal computer hardware and software, server architecture, virtualization, and remote connectivity administration and support. A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline is required, along with excellent communication skills in English. The job also requires a strong understanding of personal computer hardware and software, server architecture, and virtualization technologies such as VMware, as well as experience in remote connectivity administration and support.
5. Principal Accountabilities
The job requires creating and delivering training to users both online and offline. This includes designing and developing training material for various CAD systems and services, with a focus on e-learning and SharePoint. The training material should be engaging, interactive, and aligned with business needs.
Additionally, the job requires updating existing training material to reflect changes in the CAD systems and services and user feedback. This includes collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure that the training material is accurate, effective, and up-to-date.
Overall, the job requires a strong understanding of instructional design principles and experience in developing e-learning courses and materials using tools such as SharePoint. The aim is to provide high-quality, relevant, and engaging training that improves the users' knowledge and skills while supporting the business's objectives.
6. Primary responsibilities:
- As the CAD/CAM and PLM/MES Support/Administrator, the job entails the following responsibilities related to training and e-learning:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design and develop engaging and effective training material for various CAD/CAM and PLM/MES systems and services.
- Develop e-learning courses and materials using tools such as SharePoint, ensuring that they are accessible and user-friendly.
- Update existing training material to reflect changes in the CAD/CAM and PLM/MES systems and services and user feedback.
- Deliver training to users both online and offline, ensuring that the training is effective, engaging, and aligned with business needs.
- Provide ongoing support to users to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to use the CAD/CAM and PLM/MES systems and services effectively.
- Ensure that the training material and e-learning courses comply with regulatory and compliance requirements.
